STEPP was conceived in response to all the sad accidents and tragedies that happen in schools that could be prevented or at least responded to in a better or quicker way.
These are the goals of the STEPP project:
The same lack of awareness exists with safety proofing the schools and schoolyards as well as for safety regarding criminal or Anti-Semitic threats.
2. Raising funds and doing footwork. There are schools that will agree that this issue is important but will claim that it is too difficult and perhaps too expensive to implement or that there will be no cooperation from the staff and parent body. STEPP will help make it easier for the Yeshivos by raising funds for equipment and trainers and doing all the footwork to get the staff trained (parents can also attend classes).
3. Create a network of volunteers to coordinate and encourage Yeshivos worldwide to participate.
4. Give STEPP certification to Yeshivos who participate in program.
There is a great need for a program of this nature. The newspapers are filled with tragic stories and our community is not immune to these dangers. This program may save lives but it will not succeed without sufficient funding. Please help us finance this project.
We thank you for your kind consideration of this vital program.
